Outreach

Community

Here at St. Aidan's, our faith isn't just something we keep within our walls. It's a living, breathing part of how we connect with the world around us. Following our mission to Know God, Love People, and Serve Others, we're actively involved in reaching out to our wonderful community. Each month, our members dedicate their time and hearts to support a different charity, putting our faith into action. This page highlights these monthly outreach efforts, showcasing how we strive to be the hands and feet of compassion right here in our neighborhood. Join us as we share the love!

July 2025- Soles for Souls (shoes) –CFISD/Homeless Students

July’s outreach ministry is “Soles for Souls”. Throughout the month of July, we will be collecting new or gently used shoes for CyFair ISD students in need. The shoes will be delivered to the workers at the ISD who will distribute them to these children.

The Harris County Youth and Family Services Division (CYS) was established by Harris County Commissioners Court in January 1998 as a unique collaboration of six county agencies working together to provide a continuum of coordinated services to the children and families of Harris County. Community Youth Services (CYS) social workers based at local campuses provide students with food, housing referrals, transportation, and clothing so that they may attend school. To support students’ return to school each year, St. Aidan’s provides shoes for students through the “Soles for Souls” shoe donations each July.

August 2025- MESA – Stuff the Bus

Parishioner Michael Tonnu is the dedicated contact for one of the largest food security programs in the Cypress Fairbanks area. Church members are encouraged to bring new school supplies to the parish hall throughout August.

September 2025- Cy-Hope Student Support (Tutor/mentor)

Cy-Hope, states their mission is simple: Making Life Better for Kids. They bring needs and solutions together to instill hope in underserved children, nurturing their potential to grow into educated, empowered individuals who positively impact their communities. Their vision is to rally the entire community—businesses, schools, churches, civic organizations, hospitals, and individual volunteers—to create opportunities for underserved children, transform lives and build a brighter future. Through giving to Cy-Hope (including donations of clothing and household goods for resale or recycling, St. Aidan’s supports youth mentoring, counseling referrals, summer feeding programs and more.

October 2025- GIVING & SHARING –CLOTHED BY FAITH, REACH Luncheon, and
Seafarer’s Shoeboxes

Started in 2013, Clothed by Faith says their mission is to demonstrate God’s love through the provision of clothing to those in need. “Every day, we see firsthand the impact a simple bag of clothing can have—restoring dignity, bringing comfort, and giving people hope for a fresh start.” St. Aidan’s supports Clothed by Faith through giving school clothes for children, as well as making bag tags and assembling socks packages to be distributed by their volunteer teams.

Reach Unlimited provides individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities a life full of joy, purpose, and accomplishment in a safe and caring environment. Because their needs require ongoing stewardship of their day programs and residential services, St. Aidan’s participates in annual giving to REACH through individual donations, attending the fundraising luncheon each October with parishioner Debbie McCart, buying products from their Gift Shop and Greenhouse, and scheduling tours of the facility for those wanting to learn more about programs and benefits at REACH.

November 2025- MESA Collaboration for Thanksgiving and SAS – Wreath Across
America

As a part of the work parishioner Jimmy Baughman does for the Veterans in our community, he leads St. Aidan’s in participating in Wreaths Across America each year. The simple mission of the organization was established to “Remember. Honor. Teach.” so that the sacrifices of veterans are never forgotten. Donations to purchase wreaths, along with placing and removing the wreaths at the National Cemetery, are integral parts of this project.
